To achieve a democratic, united, and prosperous South Sudan through peaceful political struggle, full implementation of the Revitalised Peace Agreement, and the establishment of accountable, inclusive governance that serves all South Sudanese people without discrimination.

Historical Timeline
Founding of the SPLM/A
The Sudan People's Liberation Movement and its armed wing were established under Dr. John Garang de Mabior to fight for a united, democratic Sudan free from marginalisation.
Comprehensive Peace Agreement
The CPA ended two decades of civil war, granting Southern Sudan autonomy and paving the way for the 2011 independence referendum.
Independence of South Sudan
South Sudan became the world's newest nation. The SPLM transitioned from liberation movement to governing party, inheriting the responsibility of state-building.
Political Crisis & Formation of SPLM-IO
Internal divisions within the SPLM erupted into armed conflict. Dr. Riek Machar led the SPLM-In Opposition, calling for democratic reform, accountability, and an end to authoritarian rule.
Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict (ARCSS)
A peace agreement was signed in Addis Ababa, establishing a Transitional Government of National Unity and creating a framework for political reform.
Revitalised Peace Agreement (R-ARCSS)
The Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan was signed, renewing the commitment to a transitional government and lasting peace.
